    18D: Distant Past!!! (5,3) - OLDEN DAY (E). Not sure why there are three exclamation marks. Also the solution leads to an adjective I think, whereas the clue is a noun

      Thanks. Yes, I agree. Two too many exclamation marks. And the clue could have been worded much better. Hopefully will improve with time.Colonel held my hand with his very valuable feedback to bring it up to this level. Thanks to him mainly.

      I intended Execute as the def. Was not sure whether this would qualify as a &lit. Got to be more cautious maybe.

      The definition got 'erased' when Afterdark edited the clue due to some suggestions I gave him. The earlier avatar of the clue had 'Remove' as a definition.
