  2. Waiting for Richard to start the ball rolling.
Happy to have finished before time except for 19D. Enjoyable fare as is expected from Gridman.
Made the mistake of spelling "spin drier" and struggled for 7D!
Benison is up in Richard's alley.

    1. Yes, benison has come to stay in Konkani as 'besao~'(with a nasal ending) to mean blessing. It is of Portuguese origin from Goa.

  3. Hi all

Had problems with posting around 8-30.

CAPRICCIO, RELEASE, ROLLICK, ELECTORAL, DUDGEON, SCUMMY, INTERDEPENDENT (phew!), SUCCESSOR, COCKER SPANIELS, THEOREM, ENDEMIC, NUTTY and some others were good.

  5. Fairly straightforward today. 18D very nicely presented. But 5D seems to be hanging in the air?

    Nice run from Gridman

  6. But 5D seems to be hanging in the air?

    Really?

Suppose we interpret 's as has, then we have: Father has each document.

Could be statement by a family member while discussing a property dispute among siblings to the effect that father is in possession of each of the documents that they were looking for.

    Is this explanation convincing?

    1. CV sir, thought I might get a comeback on that! Actually I did consider it the way you have parsed. But then logically, wouldn't 'father has' lead to PAS and not just PA?

It's no big deal however, I just posted a top of the mind impression, doesn't detract from a good quality CW

  7. Surface reading: Father's each document = Father has each document.

Wordplay: Father's each document = Father has each document = The word 'father' (PA) has, comes to possess, 'each' (PER) document (def).
