Liked SKATE ON THIN ICE, CONSCRIPT, TIPPERARY, SHOT GLASS (nice one), CHIHUAHUA (wah, wah!), KALAMAZOO, ORCHESTRA, INCUMBENT (cute!) and others.
LARGE INTESTINE - alimentary, my dear Watson! ASHEN was a good pun with layer. STENCIL was simple. NEGRITUDE was a new word for me.
nice one today. got stuck in skate on thin ice. i assumed it to be Float on thin ice, and so had difficulty in the NW corner. fish had F in it so i assumed it to be float.
ReplyDeleteFeeling great to have 100% today though with a little help for 15D & 16A. Challenging but enjoyable. Liked the use of a less used word for zoo. Initially groping thinking of Giri for ex president. We have has lots of copies for the 'stencil'!(though it is hardly used these days)

DeleteIn the context, I take "revisit" to mean "return to or come back to" as in revisiting a subject.
I'm also glad that we are dissecting clues this minutely which to me means THC has moved on to a higher plane.
Nice one again. Didn't quite get why 'entering it' = GATE, but Gateau was obvious with the crossings

ReplyDelete2D brought back old memories - used to find the pronunciation of this name very funny when waiting for my connection at the airport in Detroit.

Yes, thanks to Buzzer for a Sunday well spent. Except a few I was able to get most of it and felt happy that I was able to fit them all into the jigsaw just as Col. was publishing it. Level of solvers has to go up if level of setters goes up!
