    The clue leads to two words 'not withstanding'

  3. Crossword setters while taking into account components in word breakup resort to English or other exotic rivers for subsidiary indication. I can quite understand it.

    Let's have an instant clue-writing exercise. Take any English (not Indian) word of your choice. While clueing it, at least one component must have an Indian river for subsidiary indication. Try!
