I have no problem with this. The def is "constrain ... possible". This is fined with the tense of the ans.
"with both members (i.e., arm/hand and leg/foot) immobilised" is just an extension. So "immobilised" doesn't glance at the tense of the phrase required (if I am expressing myself clearly).

That's right, Bhala. I forgot to say that given my explanation (which is what the setter must mean), the clue cannot be classified as a DD. It was in my mind!
