    It should have been 'potentially' for the clue to make sense that we need to anagram "with screen" for a public school (winchester)

    25a is not a T clue.
    'neé' is born. Used for women.
    'né' is also born. Used for men.
    I don't profess to know French and I can't say if MM intended this.
    Many clues in any MM series use questionable devices, though are simply superb.

    I did not get the connection between "ratings" "seamen". Got the anno, but not the connection, hence the query.

    Venkatesh, 'Rating' refers to a person enlisted in the British Navy. I suppose Manna has extrapolated it to refer to 'Seamen' as 'Ratings'
