  1. 25 - Against one girl having to travel west for capital (6) - {VIE}{NNA<-}

    Could this be {V}{I}{ENNA<-}?

    By = X as in a dimension ( 6 by 4 or 6 X 4)

  12. Coming in later than usual!

    Nice one today, though some a bit tough (more appropriately out of our daily context). Getting to know the meaning of 'brutus' as a wig for the first time, and learning that the pope can be a parish priest! As for Moose Jaw, never heard of the place!
    But enjoyable enough.

  14. Did any one notice that to elbow grease is to bribe? How come there is no reference to the venal virus (that is affecting our country so badly in this year)in the clue? The clue only refers to a joint.

    In the colonial days, Madras curry, was a regular phrase as much as Mulligaatawney ( Milagu tanni ,as much as Baalti and Naan and Chapati as answers for clues in the Daily Telegraph,Independent and Times crosswords.

    I liked Hairpiece, as a convoluted clue for 15 down. Hair was a stage musical show in the 70's?

    By and large, this Sunday's fare was quite a teaser.
