  2. I think I need to add something between 'tough' and 'easy' in the reactions. The Good/Poor part is okay. Any suggestions for a single word to classify a CW which is neither 'tough' nor 'easy'

No wonder you didn't get 6 - which is 22.
Thanks to Veer who commented on it in the Orkut community: THCS.
Apologies from Gridman, who was carried away by a duck too many (if you have read Shakespeare, 'duck' also means 'sweetheart').

  4. CV,

This makes us exclaim, "Lord love a duck"! (an expression of surprise made popular by PGW in "The coming of Bill" and other novels, and by the comedy movie with that title)

  5. Not a very good offering i should say... I was stumbled on various clues and could not get a great deal on surface reading. A very rare toughie from Gridman. Though i got anaconda anno was not clear...Same for Wealthier also.

You could add "Average" in addition to good and bad or tough and poor. at the same time solvers personal evaluation could also be added like Good/Average/Bad could be thought of.

    Mathu.

  7. CD's in all the wrong places (long spaces) for me!!

Deepak. The problem is not the CDs so much as the fact that some of the clues you have marked CD are actually E. Like 16A and 1D. Nothing cryptic about these two.

  8. A single word to classify a CW which is neither 'tough' nor 'easy' - How about TEASY?

  9. Hi richard,

What coincidence, I too was thinking of the word 'teasy'!!

  10. Suresh @ 13:48,

When I classify something as 'E', what I mean is a direct dictionary definition. 16A and 1d will not figure as a word in a dictionary that's why I classified them as CD

  11. I too could not get 6d.5A was a little unusual in the sense that it lacked the 'desi'flavour and we hardly think in terms of pies.
'Teasy'gets my vote too- it can also be described as-teasingly easy!

  14. Deepak @ 1637

    Indeed, great minds....

It can also mean 'tantalizingly easy'.

  15. Gridman must have written 18A tongue in cheek. The word play has come out well. My COD.

  16. Not forgetting the naked flame in a spit !

Gridman must have been musing about Nyama Choma.

  17. agree w/ the general feeling. Gridman may have been trying to push us, but I lost contact after a while. Sheer lack of anything to do ... sitting in a hospital room all day... allowed me to finish all but 5-6 of the clues. But I didn't follow the annos on at least 3-4... and when I did in here now, I'm not kicking myself. That leads me to say average, and definitely TEASY!!! :)
