  1. Read 10ac clue as a whole for the def. The clue type is known as &lit, for 'and literally'. Some call it "all in one".

  2. 'piscator' must be related to Pisces, the class of fishes. The fem. form is 'piscatrix'. Do you know of any female anglers? Purely in the sense of those who catch fish.

  4. Bad that I did not immediately get the first half of 27ac.
    As a college student one of my most favourite drinks was Spencers' icecream soda.
    Later I missed it because the company withdrew the product before it closed down the soft drink business as a whole.
    In taste it was something like Sprite or 7Up, I think.
    Does anyone else have memories of the Spencer product?
